Brewster Men's Group

The Brewster Men's Group is no longer meeting - if anyone would like to resurrect it, send an email...

Purpose: The purpose of the Brewster Area Gay Men’s Group is to facilitate a community of gay men for discussion, support, networking and friendship. Meetings generally begin with introductions and a discussion of activities of interest going on outside the group and a theme topic is generally introduced to get discussion going. Members of the group are encouraged to organize activities and events in addition to the regularly scheduled meetings.

Directions: The Winslow House of First Parish, Brewster is located on the corner of Routes 124 and 6A in Brewster. The driveway enters from Route 124 and there is a mailbox in the shape of a church across the road from the driveway entrance. The meeting room is in the very back of the building; you can enter any door facing the parking area.

Upcoming Events

As of last night there were only a few guys confirming interest in going out to dinner on Wednesday so I think we’ll pass on getting together for this month. This seems to happen every summer as people get busy so I’m suggesting that we let the summer go and next get together in September- the second Wednesday would be September 12^th. Same place (Winslow House), same time (7:00).

The next meeting of the Brewster Gay Men’s Group will be this Wednesday, June 20^{th 7pm} at the Winslow House of First Parish Brewster. Directions below. This will again be pot luck so bring what you have time to acquire or prepare! If necessary there is a kitchen with stove and oven to heat foods ahead of time. All plates, bowls, cups, utensils and condiments are provided. Some people bring a bottle of wine or soft drinks to share.

It seems that the pot luck idea works. Food seems to have a way of facilitating conversation and focusing attention so we’ll keep the pot luck idea going until we decide otherwise. Don’t worry about not being able to bring a fancy dish- we’ve ranged from Italian dishes to deli salads to pizzas to veggie platters to (last month) a birthday cake to home baked dishes to D’Angelos’s wraps- it always seems to work out well even though no one wants to cook on a Wednesday night- but we all enjoy eating what other people bring. The next potluck dinner meeting of our men’s group is Wednesday, ^{April 18th}  at 7:00. The next meeting of our men’s group is next Wednesday, March 21^st at 7:00- the first day of Spring! We’ll meet as usual at the Winslow House of First Parish Brewster (directions below). Remember that this gathering is pot luck, so dig into your freezer or make your way to Trader Joe’s. We will provide all the plates, cups, utensils, etc.
